A poem of the Beloved to her God
Will my heart beat a little faster in your presence?
Will my eyes capture the moving lights of your glory?
Or will I be trampled by the vagaries of life
Or fall into the thorns milking the soul?
No, I am but clay brought to life.
Saved and lifted from a world of hurt
For you have set me high on the hill of light.
That nothing but your glory may be born to sight.
Oh, how I raced to your throne as the morning rays encamped at your feet.
How I rejoiced at the memory of your unfailing love
You have set out a feast of goodness for your beloved
Your gold-speckled cup of love laid before me.
Yes, I will drink deeply from this well of delight
I will fill my heart, my soul, and my life with your truth.
That your words may burst forth into this thirsty world,
And give peace to all who hanker for you.
You have pruned and watered me with your ardent care
Where can I find satisfaction but to dwell in your arms?
Your embrace is what my body longs for,
My weary bones find succour in your enfolding bosom.
For you rap me in the richness of your heavenly robes,
And calm my anxious wiles with your gentle power.
Lord, I am enraptured by you.
My eyes behold your majesty and my heart quivers at your power.
Like precious rubies, like the finest oil, you secure me in cords of gold and silver.
Oh, how I long to be poured out for your glory
And to light up every dark crevice with your truths.
Now my joy knows no bounds and my pain is overcome by your kindness
for you satisfy my every need and pander to my heart’s desire.
Like a babe suckling from a mother’s breast
You give me food in every season.
And as a shepherd to its sheep
You shield me from every sorrow.
So, my delight will be found in you
For you are my treasure and my priority.
You give meaning to my days and set course to my path.
My feet dance for joy in the presence of your majesty
My lips part of their own accord in reckless surrender to your amazing grace
You alone are worthy of my heartfelt praise
You are the gift my soul has found,
And may I forever delight in you and in the wonders of your name.
Amen ?❤️?
