Do you ever have days when you feel a deep heaviness, where your mind recalls, with surprising accuracy, all the things that have gone wrong in your life, like an unforgiving to-do list?
If you’ve ever felt this way, or you’re in that space right now, hear me when I say:
“Don’t lose your trust and your fire.”
Please don’t.
Because that’s exactly what the enemy wants.
Paul and the apostles felt this too. He wrote:
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 (NIV)
Maybe you’re tired; tired of waiting, holding on, and doing things the Christian way.
Maybe for you, it’s financial struggles you thought would be long gone by now.
Or maybe your singleness feels like a loud siren that won’t stop, while the world insists there are no good men left.
It can all get jarring.
But if you’re in that space, I need you to do two things:
1. Talk About How You’re Feeling
Don’t bottle it up. Don’t bury it beneath your productivity or pretend it’s not there. Emotions don’t just disappear, they simmer, fester, and eventually become a gaping hole of bitterness or despair.
You need healthy ways to process your pain.
And the best place to start is with God.
Jesus says:
“…Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Matthew 11:28–30 NLT
Maybe you feel like God isn’t listening. Maybe talking to Him feels awkward or unproductive.
But I promise you, He is listening. He’s closer than you think.
Start with Him. Pour out your heart, raw and unfiltered. You don’t need perfect words. You don’t need to clean it up.
Just come as you are. That’s the beauty of relationship.
In time, God will lead you to the people who are meant to support you in this season. But start with Him.
2. Read What God Says About You
When everything around you feels uncertain, go back to the Word. The Bible is filled with reminders of your identity and God’s unwavering love.
Here are just a few:
We are created in His image:
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Genesis .1.26 .NKJV
We have been given the power to be fruitful and multiply:
Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 1:28 NKJV
We are fearfully and wonderfully made
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”
Psalms 139:13–14 NKJV
He is able to restore our souls and provide all that we need:
“He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.”
Psalms 23:3, 5 NKJV
These aren’t just feel-good verses. They’re truth. They are declarations of who you are in Christ.
