Five podcasts for single Christian Women
Podcasts and other audio-visual platforms are here to stay.
Some people believe that in the future, more of us will consume audio and video resources than books. While we do not know what the future holds, we do know that there are obvious benefits to listening to podcasts.
Benefits of Podcasts
They are:
- More convenient and versatile.
You can listen to a podcast while doing other activities (including a primary activity like driving).
- An alternative learning option.
Podcasts are a great alternative to reading or watching videos. There are times when we need to rest our eyes and use one of our other senses.
- Mostly Free.
Most podcasts out there are free. More so, the platforms do not charge you nor are you overloaded with Ads as you would be on YouTube and other free streaming services.
Five Podcasts to help you grow your spiritual life
In no particular order, here are five podcasts I believe will be instrumental to your spiritual growth this year.
This is by far one of my favourite podcasts.
It is a wonderful resource for young single and married women who want to grow their spiritual lives, while also thriving in their various God-given roles.
One of the best parts of this podcast is when Leslie Ludy highlights stories of incredible women of God. It was this podcast that led me to read the biographies of Corrie ten Boom and Gladys Alyward (and those were life-changing books).
Do give it a listen
Note: If you listen to her podcast long enough, you may realise that it revolves around similar themes and ideas. This may seem repetitive, but I don’t it mind at all. I think it renews my faith and reminds me of how good our God is. Kinda like reading the Bible.
Okay, Java with Juli is intense.
I have listened to excerpts of her podcasts, and they are so good. Dr Juli Slattery is known for her work on Christian sexuality, and she never shies away from discussing this important yet often side-lined topic. And I love her for that.
This is worth a listen, especially if you’ve been struggling with your sexual identity, lust, sexual temptation, or even painful sex in marriage.
She is a go-to resource.
Verity Podcast was created by Phylicia Masonheimer who is a prolific writer, content creator, and Christian business owner.
She shares core theological concepts in a simple and practical way.
Daily Thunder is a daily podcast from Eric Ludy (Leslie’s husband) and Nathan Johnson.
Yes, Eric Ludy is Leslie Ludy’s husband. They are sold out to the gospel and find many ways to encourage and charge the body of Christ to impact their generation.
Do you need to hear unconventional but powerful teaching in a way that connects with our generation? Then you should listen to With the Perrys.
Jackie Hill Perry (JHP) and her husband are wonderful Christian creatives who find instructive ways to share God’s word. I have been following JHP for a few years and I recently read her book – Gay Girl, Good God, which was so good. I can’t recommend this enough…
Honourable Mentions:
Conclusion – Be intentional about your Spiritual Growth
I hope you get to explore these and other resources to help you grow your spiritual life (which will affect every other aspect of your life).
More so, I hope you remember that these are mere guides and cannot take the place of intentional fellowship with our God.
Here’s how the psalmist puts it:
God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course. Give me insight so I can do what you tell me—my whole life one long, obedient response. Guide me down the road of your commandments; I love traveling this freeway! Give me a bent for your words of wisdom, and not for piling up loot.”
Psalm 119: 33-37 (MSG)
May God teach us to seek after Him with our whole hearts. Amen ??
