Today is Day 1 of our 7-Day Prayer & Praise Challenge, and I can’t even begin to describe how surreal it feels.
When the idea for this challenge came, it was a gentle whisper, one I wanted to quickly discount.
A part of me wondered if I just wanted to do it because it sounded nice and “Christian” or if it was a mandate backed by heaven. I had to ask myself a few questions:
- Why now?
- What’s the real reason for this?
- Is this truly led by God, or just another thing I’m adding to my list?
Looking back now, I’m so glad I didn’t let hesitation win.
Because if there’s anything I know for sure, it’s that we all need more praise and more prayer in our lives. I do. You probably do too.
And there’s something about praise, especially when life feels heavy or uncertain that shifts the atmosphere and reminds us who God is.
Let’s Start With Two Psalms of Thanksgiving
As we begin this journey, I want us to look closely at two powerful Psalms that remind us why thanksgiving is essential to our faith walk:
1. Psalm 100: 1-end Enter with Thanksgiving
This is one of the most familiar and joyful Psalms in the Bible. And right at the center of it is this powerful truth:
We don’t enter into God’s presence with complaints or demands.
We enter with thanksgiving:
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name.”
Psalm 100:4
Before we pour out our needs, before we bring our burdens, we start with gratitude.
It’s how we approach His gates. It’s how we posture our hearts.
Why? Because thanksgiving does something powerful in us.
It recenters us.
It reminds us that God has been faithful before, and He will be faithful again.
Thanksgiving is how we enter. Praise is how we stay. Worship is how we live.
Psalm 100 reminds us that God is good, His love endures forever, and His faithfulness continues through all generations. That alone is enough reason to start every day and every challenge with thanksgiving.
2. Psalm 105:1–5 Remember What He’s Done
This Psalm reads almost like a spiritual journal:
- Give praise… Proclaim His name… Make known what He has done…
It’s not just telling us to be thankful—it’s telling us to remember.
Remember when He came through for you.
Remember when He didn’t let you drown.
Remember the answered prayers you don’t talk about anymore.
Praise is not always about volume or song. Sometimes, praise is about stillness, reflection, and the quiet whisper of thank You for things we nearly forgot.
When you can’t feel your way forward, try praising your way backward—into remembrance.
Today’s Gentle Invitation
So today, on this first day of the challenge, let these Psalms be your guide.
- Enter with thanksgiving, even if all you have is a mustard seed of gratitude.
- Remember what He has done, even if it’s been a while since you’ve felt close.
Don’t overthink it. Don’t wait for the perfect moment.
Just begin. Open your mouth. Reflect on His goodness. Write it down. Sing it aloud. Whisper it in your kitchen. Dance it out in your living room.
This challenge isn’t about performance, it’s about positioning ourselves right.
Tonight at 8:00 pm (Nigerian time)
We’ll gather on Instagram Live to do exactly this, praise, remember, and worship together. Don’t come for perfection, come with a heart that’s willing to thank Him again.
Tag a friend to join us, and if you haven’t signed up for the challenge yet, it’s not too late.

Let’s start this week with thanksgiving, and let’s stay there.
