For the overwhelmed Single Girl
Have you ever felt bone-deep weariness?
The type that fills your heart and reaches up to your lips, but is impossible to articulate? It’s just there, an unwelcome friend and stifling bedmate.
I think I felt that recently.
I have been on autopilot this season. Doing the things that would not require too much heart or brain power. And do you know what has suffered? Spending time with my beloved. Every minute felt like an hour, and I couldn’t wing it.
And do you know what?
God did not let me go. I could feel him close to me, but I also couldn’t shake off some of the guilt and “you should know better” hanging over me.
This feeling has filtered into different areas.
For instance, over the past year, I have published a post every week, and this was going to be the first week without a post, and I was okay with it. I just didn’t feel like I had anything left to say or share.
I felt empty and bereft.
Which I knew was a lie, but in that moment, I chose to believe the easy lie rather than the hard truth.
The truth was that I could move beyond my feelings. That I could control my thoughts and actions.
I don’t know what season you’re in and how things have been going for you, but I pray that you don’t give up.
God is not done with you.
In fact, He is on the MOVE and He wants you with HIM.
Do you know why?
Here’s what He did for me:
This evening, a friend called me and in the course of our conversation, I sensed that God had sent her to me. God was reminding me that He not only loved me unconditionally, but He will never leave nor forsake me.
She also encouraged me with a scripture that confirmed some promises that God had made to me a few months ago, promises that she wasn’t privy to.
To say I was blown away by our Heavenly Father’s intentionality would be an understatement.
OUR GOD LOVES BIG.
His LOVE is all-encompassing.
Sis don’t let your weariness or despair define this period for you.
Perhaps, I am the friend God has sent to remind you that He has not forgotten you.
Maybe, I am the messenger that has been called to inform you that the MASTER has need of you.
That the MASTER will never leave nor FORSAKE you.
I pray that you will let His word guide you and His grace abide with you.
I pray you will seek him first, even if you can only mumble the words – “Lord, help me. I am in deep need of you.”
And do you know something else, I believe HE has called me to remind you of this:
But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9
May this be your testimony, in Jesus’ name. Amen
