10 Scriptures for when you feel lonely
We have all, at one time or another, felt a deep sense of loneliness.
And in such moments, it’s easy to believe the way we feel is unique to us and no one will understand.
In such moments we may feel rejected and alone.
This is often heightened in the lives of single women. The feeling of being alone and unloved, of being forgotten and not wanted.
This can have such a debilitating effect on our worth and identity.
And the worst part is that it is not an easy area to discuss. We may feel shame and fear, which barricade us from reaching out for help and support.
There have been studies which show that this current generation of young people are probably the loneliest, even though they are the most connected – through social media and the internet.
This has been especially hard due to the pandemic and social distancing rules.
We may be talking to people all day but still feel unseen, unknown, and unloved.
Have you ever felt this way?
Have you ever cried out to God asking for how long your life will be like this? For how long you will continue to feel lost and alone?
You probably have and I need you to know that you are not alone in this fear and shame. You are not alone in the emotions coursing through you.
More so, I need you to know that there is a way out.
We have a God who is close to the brokenhearted, and he is able to bring joy and meaning into our lives.
What does the Bible say about feeling alone?
You may not realize this but there are Bible verses about loneliness and depression.
Even in Bible times, people experienced deep and excruciating periods of shame and loneliness.
They were treated as outcasts and forgotten but thank God we have a Heavenly Father who will never leave us. He knows the number of hairs on our head, how much more the state of our hearts.
Here are 10 Bible verses to remind us of how much our Heavenly Father cares for and loves us.

A prayer for the single woman who feels alone
Lord God, I need your help! I feel so lost and afraid. I often feel tired and disillusioned, not knowing what to do and how to overcome the loneliness that eats at me. Father, please help me stand strong. Help me believe your words about me and stand in your truth. Remind me that you will never leave nor forsake me, neither will you shut me out of your presence.
Thank you for loving me despite all my faults and foibles. May I continue to bask in your love and know that your grace is forever sufficient in me and your power flows through when I am weak.
Father, today, I will take a step towards wholeness and joy. I will enjoy the moments and not allow fears and lies to stop me.
In Jesus’ name, I have prayed. Amen.
